Major achievements in recent years (3 years):
Social Services, Bancharampur, Brahmanbaria Department of Social Affairs is a regional office functioning of Upazila Parishad.Department of Social Services as one of the nation-building departments of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is providing services to the distressed, poor, neglected, backward, underprivileged, troubled backward and disabled people of the country. By turning all these target groups into human resources, the Department of Social Services is playing an important role in the overall development of the country by alleviating poverty and providing social security. As a representative of Social Services Department at Upazila level from Upazila Social Services Office, Bancharampur, Brahmanbaria under his control in the last financial year. Using resources and existing infrastructure-manpower 12320 old age pensioners, 3874 widows and surviving spouses women pensioners and 5281 indigent disabled pensioners and a total of 21475 beneficiaries, 37 providing education stipend to disabled students, 223 backward community (special) elderly beneficiaries 15 elderly beneficiaries of Vedic community, 65 backward students including education stipend are being paid directly to the cash bank account numbers of all beneficiaries. 2416 persons with disabilities have been issued identity cards. Allowance is being paid through e-payment system to all the upazila beneficiaries.
Problems and Challenges:
The main challenge in implementing the activities of the Department of Social Services at the upazila level is, For their simplicity despite repeated warnings about the confidentiality of the beneficiaries' cash accounts Protecting against the activities of hacker groups is a major challenge. Providing proper service is a major challenge due to shortage of office staff.
Future plans:
Ensuring ethical practices in service delivery, encouraging innovation, effective service delivery for customer satisfaction and digitization of service delivery system by 2025. By 2025, the creation of an integrated digital data repository of all the beneficiaries of the Department of Social Services will be completed. By 2025, developing action plans will be formulated to implement the National Social Security Strategy by assessing the impact of social security activities.
